My family immigrated from the Philippines in the mid-seventies. I was born in Philadelphia, PA. When I was ten, the family moved to Fresno, CA.
I had received a Bachelors of Arts, Magna Cum Laude, in Creative Writing from the University of California at Riverside. This is where I met the Dominican Order. The Western Dominican Province currently runs Saint Andrew Newman Center, the local Catholic campus ministry. I entered the Dominican Order on August 15, 2002, with my nine other classmates. We were the first novice class to inhabit the current Novitiate House, Saint Dominic’s Priory, San Francisco.
My four classmates and I were blessed with the grace of Holy Orders to the Priesthood on June 25, 2010.
My first assignment was with the Catholic Community at Stanford–under the patronage of Saint Dominic. I arrived at this Saint Dominic’s on September 1, 2013.
